| “ | Troglodytes (near as anyone can tell) are some form of sentient mushroom species. They live short, brutish lives, with only a very rare few getting to die of natural causes. Most will pick fights with things far stronger than them long before old age gets to them. Their profound lack of intelligence hasn't stopped them from forming their own society, however. Life in a Trog warren consists of scavenging for food, growing mushrooms, worshiping their grotesque goddess-queen, and fighting over territory or over precious offerings to their deity. Then the next morning, the survivors do it all over again. They appear to have no understanding of sentience other than their own, and have not shown any interest in trade or diplomacy with other species. |
